A cake smash is a fun and relaxed photography session created to celebrate your baby’s first birthday. Your little one gets to explore, taste, squish and smash their very own cake while I capture all the gorgeous reactions — from curious little fingers to cheeky smiles and messy faces.

Cake smash sessions are best for babies aged 10–12 months. Many Brisbane families book their session 4-6 weeks before the birthday so images are ready in time for party celebrations and keepsakes.
I recommend booking 6–8 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date, especially for popular months nearer Christmas. As a North Brisbane cake smash photographer, weekend and school holiday dates book quickly.

Yes, delicious vanilla sponge cake is included and colour matched to your chosen theme. Cake upgrades are available or add a second cake for twin or sibling sessions.
If your baby has food allergies or specific dietary requirements, parents will need to bring their own cake to ensure your child’s safety. A $25 discount is applied for BYO
Absolutely! You can choose from a wide range of existing cake smash themes (check out my Instagram page!) or email for a 'list of theme' suggestions, or you may request a custom theme when booking a Silver package.
That’s completely normal! Some babies dive straight in, while others prefer to gently explore or even sit back and watch. I allow plenty of time and gently guide the session to capture natural expressions and sweet moments — no pressure at all.
I provide a selection of cake smash outfits suitable for boys and girls in sizes 0 and 1 to suit most theme colours. You’re also welcome to bring your own special outfit if you have something meaningful in mind, please send me a photo so I can style match.
Your little one may wear up to two outfits for the session, the first for family/portrait poses, the second to get cake-smash messy in!
Yes! A family or sibling photo is included in my studio sessions or you can request to add further poses to your booking. These poses together are photographed before the cake smash, seated together on the set floor, so everyone stays clean and relaxed.
Cake smash sessions usually run for approximately 60 minutes, allowing time for warm-up, portraits, the cake smash itself, bath photos and the clean up!
If your baby is unwell, please contact me as soon as possible. I’m happy to reschedule your Brisbane cake smash session so we can capture happy, healthy smiles. A reschedule request within 48hrs of your session, however, will incur a $50 fee to cover cake and any balloon expenses.
Your edited images will be emailed within 2 weeks of your session. You’ll receive a private online gallery to view with instructions to select and download your images.
Yes, all sessions include high-resolution digital images. Professional prints are also available to purchase if you’d like something special for your home or a gift. RAW and unedited files are not provided.
Yes! My North Brisbane studio is baby-safe, air-conditioned and relaxed, with time allowed for feeding and cuddles as needed. A sink, fridge and baby change table is available to use however there are NO toilet facilities at the premises.
Simply enquire via my website, choose your preferred package and theme, and secure your session date with a deposit online. An email confirmation with all the details regarding the session following your completed booking.
